Join us on Sunday the 15th of September for Scottish Civic Trust's annual 'Doors Open Days' event. There will be lots to see at Glen Tanar, so here's a preview of what you can expect on the day.

Come and visit the hidden treasures of Glen Tanar Estate on Sunday the 15th September. We'll be 'opening the doors' on a number of our buildings which are not usually accessible to the general public, like our magnificent Ballroom and St Lesmo's Chapel.
Built by Sir William Cunliffe Brooks in 1869, and originally the music room of Glen Tanar House, our unique Ballroom now hosts beautiful events and weddings all year round. From the vaulted ceiling adorned with over 700 antlers, to its original oak floor and its majestic atmosphere, the Ballroom is a great building to explore.
Just a short walk from the Ballroom you'll find St Lesmo's Chapel - a unique example of a 19th century chapel - and Glen Tanar's Walled Garden.
Our friends at The Seed Box - who operate out of the Walled Garden - provide horticultural training and outdoor therapy for adults with additional support needs. The Seed Box invite you to come along this 'Doors Open Day' and explore the many wonders of the garden. In addition to a lovely walk you'll also have the opportunity to purchase some of The Seed Box's fresh fruit and vegetables … all grown locally!

If you'd like to take a taste of Glen Tanar home with you, stop by the Ballroom on your way out and pick up a jar of our exclusive Glen Tanar Honey. We have 5 honey producing hives at Glen Tanar from which a limited amount of honey is taken each year - leaving plenty stores to last the winter.
We'll be selling the honey for £8 a jar. An 'un-BEE-lievable' price when you consider that a hive of bees must fly 55,000 miles to produce a single jar of honey … that's allot of work!

We hope to see you this weekend for the 2019 'Doors Open Day' at Glen Tanar. It promises to be the best one yet!
