Tower O'Ess

A luxury Highland Retreat

Sleeps 2

Nestled on the edge of Glen, sitting proudly at the entrance you’ll find the Tower O’Ess.

This beautiful gatehouse conversion is idyllically set on the banks of the River Tanar surrounded by towering Scots Pine. It offers the discerning traveller a rare opportunity to indulge in luxury self-catering accommodation in a unique property which dates to the height of the Victorian era.

Designed and built between 1871-1873 by Sir William Cunliffe Brooks and the famous architect George Truefitt, the Tower was originally built as an imposing entrance to the glen. However in 1918, The Tower O’Ess was reimagined as an operational gatehouse by Lord Glentanar, Thomas Coats.

The Tower O’Ess is steeped in history and features, such as the original gatehouse pulley system which is still present today and awaits discovery during your stay.

This historic listed building has been completely reimagined and transformed into a luxurious romantic hideaway, complete with a double ended slipper roll-top bath, luxurious super king bed, and a outdoor hot tub wit spectacular views of the enchanting River Tanar and the ancient pine forest.

If you are looking to escape the daily grind and head into the countryside for a weekend of relaxation in a one of a kind holiday home, then look no further than The Tower O’Ess.

Whatever the occasion this romantic highland retreat is quite simply sheer bliss and is set to take your breath away.

Due to the nature of this building, the Tower O’Ess is not suitable for babies and children.
