Salmon fishing at Glen Tanar is about more than the catch. Along the river you may spot red squirrels in the pines, herons at the water’s edge, or deer moving quietly through the trees. Guided by an understanding of the river, the seasons and the wider estate, each day becomes a slower, more immersive experience shaped by observation, connection and time spent in a remarkable landscape.
All fishing on Glen Tanar is fly-based and available to book by the day, part-week or week, from 1 March to 30 September (subject to availability).
We proudly support the Dee Conservation Code, following the catch-and-release policy for all salmon and sea trout within Glen Tanar and across Royal Deeside. This is championed by the Dee District Salmon Fishery Board and the Dee Salmon Fishing Improvement Association.
