Skiing

Alpine or Nordic skiing is in easy reach of Glen Tanar in the winter as two downhill ski centres are within an hour's drive.

The largest ski centre in Scotland is at Glenshee where a great variety of runs for all abilities start right at the main road side.

The smaller, family oriented, ski centre at the Lecht also provides summer entertainment with a dry-ski slope, quad bikes, downhill tubing and chair-lift rides.

If Nordic skiing is more your line of country then the Huntly Nordic and Outdoor Centre is only 45 minutes drive away. Of course if the roads are blocked with snow, there are plenty of routes in and around Glen Tanar to keep you happy all day.
