Glen Tanar: Valley of Echoes and Hidden TreasuresWe had a fascinating book launch in the ballroom recently. Dr Pierre Fouin, who spent his childhood on the estate while his father served as butler to two Lords Glentanar, and who was a GP in the Aberdeenshire area, was launching his second book - Glen Tanar: Valley of Echoes and Hidden Treasures - in which he researches the history, lore and personalities of the area.

This is a very welcome addition to the local heritage and we have copies for sale in the estate office priced at £14.99 It can also be obtained from local booksellers and the Waterstones and Blackwells shops in Aberdeen.

Landrover tours are still taking place just now, weather permitting.  If you would like to make a booking to see and hear about the history and wildlife on the Estate then please contact us on (013398) 86451.

The Trout Loch is continuing to fish well from the reports that we have had back.  There is work needing to be carried out on the Boat House but it is still currently open.  Extra care is just needed when entering and exiting the Boat House in the boats.

The Ballroom has been very busy with Weddings and Corporate Events throughout the year so far and we are very happy to announce that our Event's Manager Jane Ross has been nominated for Wedding Co-Ordinator 2009 by the Vow Awards 2009. The awards take place in November.

We have 1 cottage left for Christmas week but are completely sold out over New Year. If you are interested then please contact us on 013398 86451 for more information.
