If you are looking on OS Map 37 or 44 you will find us at Ref. 4745 9545. The house is 5.8 miles from Dinnet Bridge and 4.3 miles from Aboyne Bridge.

By Car
From Ballater:
East along the A93 to Dinnet; turn right to Dinnet bridge then left after crossing the river onto the B976; after three miles turn right at the Bridge and Tower of Ess into Glen Tanar; after two miles bear right at Glen Tanar House and proceed up hill, turn left to car park and continue via one way system, the cottage is just before the Estate Office on the one way system.

From Aboyne:
South over the River Dee at Aboyne Bridge turn right onto the B976 to Bridge and Tower of Ess; then as above.

By Air
Should you not wish to drive you can fly to Aberdeen Airport and get a taxi. The approximate cost out to Glen Tanar is £50 to £65. If you wish contacts for taxi firms or hire car firms please give us a call for a recommendation. If you are driving yourself from the airport Glen Tanar takes about one hour’s drive, following the A93 to Aboyne.

By Train
You can get a train to Stonehaven or Aberdeen and either get a taxi or hire a car. Once again give us a call for recommendations.
