How to find Glen Tanar

As you can see, our cottages are all in quiet, secluded locations right in the heart of the countryside. Some are in peaceful woodland settings, others have open views of the majestic mountain scenery. Whichever cottage you choose, you can be sure of a comfortable, enjoyable stay on one of Scotland’s most varied country estates.

Glen Tanar is easily reached from Scotland’s main road network. Most people arrive via the A90, the main Dundee to Aberdeen trunk road. From Stonehaven, take the A957 towards Banchory. At Crathes turn left onto A93 through Banchory towards Aboyne. In Aboyne, turn left at the green, left at T-junction, over the River Dee and follow signs to Glen Tanar along B976, turning left at Tower of Ess into Glen Tanar Estate.  

From Aberdeen airport, Glen Tanar takes about one hour’s drive, following the A93 to Aboyne.
