Cairngorms National Park

The Cairngorms National Park is Britain’s largest and newest national park, containing a unique range of landscapes, wildlife, habitats and people.

The Park has a large mountain range at its heart, with four of Scotland’s five highest mountains and totalling 52 summits over 900 metres – known to hillwalkers as “Munros”.

Featuring arctic wilderness, moorlands, forests, rivers, lochs and glens, the Park is home to 16,000 people and provides habitat for 25% of Britain’s threatened species.

Stretching from Grantown on Spey to the heads of the Angus Glens, from Ballater to Dalwhinnie and Drumochter, the Cairngorms National Park lies within easy access for visitors to Glen Tanar.
